Introducing Waterfront and coastal

Many of our Waterfront buyers are looking to escape the rat race

Michael Cornish

Following a positive trading year up 18 per cent on 2015, we are pleased to announce that we will be launching a dedicated, national Waterfront and Coastal department. The new department  will provide a one stop shop for those looking to purchase or sell properties overlooking or close to rivers, lakes, estuaries and in coastal locations.

Michael Cornish, an experienced Waterside agent with 40 years in the business has taken on a new role as Head of Waterfront and Coastal at Humberts – he says: “Over the past year alone we’ve experienced a 25 per cent increase in demand for Waterfront homes. Downsizers and retirees make up a large proportion of our buyers - they tend to be releasing cash from larger homes for a change for lifestyle but are willing to pay a premium for the benefits that a property close to water can bring.”A recent study by Health and Place* suggests that living near water can notably reduce stress levels. Michael Cornish continues: “Many of our Waterfront buyers are looking to escape the rat race and make the most of the amenities and sporting opportunities that Waterfront living can offer. The peace, tranquility and stunning views are all reasons why a Waterfront home is often top on our purchasers’ wish lists.”

Whether you’re looking to buy or sell a second home by the sea, an apartment overlooking a river or a big Country Estate with a Lake find out how the team at Humberts can help with your property requirements.
