Humberts recently held another successful property auction with 100% of the lots sold.
With three lots originally offered for sale, the first lot was definitely the highlight of the day, selling for more than 150% of its guide price at £226,000. The Lodge at Longburton on the outskirts of Sherborne attracted interest from a range of potential purchasers. Bidding started off slowly in the room but eventually two purchasers competed resulting in a sale price at £76,000 more than the £150,000 guide price.
The second lot offered for sale was Portland Cottage at Halstock, between Yeovil and Sherborne. Portland Cottage was a perfect auction lot – a very unique property situated in a glorious edge of village location, offering an excellent number of outbuildings and a paddock, but all in need of comprehensive refurbishment. The property sold in the room at its £450,000 guide price.
The third lot, originally intended to be offered for sale by auction, but which sold prior to the auction, was West Wall, an elegant and secluded period house set in nearly ¾ of an acre, very close to the centre of Sherborne. The property sold for in the region of its guide price.
Humberts will be holding its third regional property auction in late September and would be happy to discuss any potential lots.
