We’re thrilled to be hosting our second Country Homes Exhibition to capitalise on the increased demandIan Westerling
Back by popular demand, we are very pleased to announce our second Country Homes Exhibition of the year, taking place on 22nd September 2016 between 12pm and 6pm at Chestertons, 31 Lowndes Street, Knightsbridge, London SW1X 9HX.
According to our recent research there are more Londoners moving out of the Capital than ever before. A report issued by Resi Analytics for Humberts, which analyses the newly released data from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) reveals that more than 280,000 people left London in 2015, an increase of three per cent on 2014. Capitalising on the increased demand from London buyers for properties located beyond the M25, Humberts’ Country Homes Exhibition will focus on the Residential, Rural, Commercial, Leisure and Mortgage sectors and will specifically target Londoners who are interested in finding out more about buying a property in the country.
According to the classifications from the ONS*, the majority of movers in the 20-29 age group make their way to ‘Business and Education Centres’ whilst those in the 30-39 age group head to ‘Prosperous England’. Other popular destinations are classified by the ONS as ‘Surburban Traits’, ‘English and Welsh Countryside and ‘Coast and Heritage’.
Ian Westerling Managing Director of Humberts, commented on the demand for such an event: “The average cost of a London house today is almost double the English average (£470,000 vs £224,000*) and consequently we are seeing more and more people cashing in and moving out. The exodus continues to be led by young people either in their 20s or 30s with those in their 20s probably struggling to afford to buy in London and those in their 30s who may have young children in tow looking for more bang for their buck in more peaceful surrounds. We’re thrilled to be hosting our second Country Homes Exhibition to capitalise on the increased demand and look forward to showcasing a wide range of properties from chocolate box cottages to second homes by the coast, new builds and larger family homes to rural estates."
