Leading multi-disciplinary property agent Humberts has announced that they’ve seen a surge of vendors looking to market their homes in May. Across the nationwide branch network, valuations have increased by over a quarter when compared with the same time last year. Additionally, properties ‘under offer’ have increased by 20 per cent.
Ian Westerling, MD of Humberts says: “We’ve been out to value more homes and have more properties under offer than we did at the same time last year. What’s more, our database of buyers has increased on the same time last year. Some potential vendors are taking a ‘wait and see’ approach, however our advice is to strike whilst the iron is hot and take advantage of the increase of buyers looking in your local area before we hit the Summer holidays.”
For those of you thinking of selling this June, Humberts are offering the following tips:
- Make sure your garden shines; spend time tidying up your outside spaces and ensuring your garden looks its best. During the early summer months the garden will be a real selling point for potential purchasers.
- Freshen up; painting key elements of your home such as the windows and gates can really help to give it a fresh look and ensure it looks its best for the photos.
- Clear the clutter; be strategic in your clear up. Keep homely elements such as family photos and larger pieces of furniture however find space to store the nick nacks which can make rooms look smaller.
