Welcombe Barton provides a Grade II Listed property in need of renovation, with the additional benefit of a range of traditional barns with potential for development (subject to the relevant planning consents). The property also includes a paddock and woodland on the opposite side of the road.
Welcome Barton House has many original features including stone open fireplace, beamed ceiling, flag stone floor and exposed roof trusses.
The property has been in use as a centre for charitable activities associated with rural skills and the natural environment since 1978; first by the Yarner Trust and latterly by the Gaia Trust, however for the last 18 months, the property has been used primarily as a large holiday letting property.
In the past the paddock has been used as a campsite and for educational activities.
There are a number of dilapidated temporary structures on the paddock which are connected with the former use.
