A short walk from the property there is also the Manor House Hotel with its Michelin star restaurant and the golf club with a Peter Alliss designed course, regarded as one of the top 100 in the UK. At the heart of the village is the 14th Century Market Cross, a small hotel and a public house.
Voted "the prettiest village in England", Castle Combe has a secluded position in the By Brook Valley. Set within an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, amidst beautiful North Wiltshire countryside. North west of the market town of Chippenham and within easy reach of the Georgian city of Bath, with its many cultural, leisure and shopping attractions. Tetbury and Cirencester, two typical Cotswolds towns, are close by.
The M4 motorway (Junctions 17 & 18) provides fast road access to London, Bristol, Swindon and the South West. Nearby Chippenham offers a comprehensive range of shopping facilities and amenities including a sports/leisure centre and main line rail services (Paddington 75 minutes) There is a good choice of both state and private education in the area. From Chippenham proceed out of the town along the A420 (Bristol Road) bearing right at the fork signposted to Yatton Keynell and Castle Combe. Follow this road through Yatton Keynell and upon reaching Upper Castle Combe take the next left down the hill to the square, and follow the road round to the left. Proceed over the bridge and Middle Cottage is located on the right hand side.
