Situation.
The Compasses is situated in the heart of this ancient country town which nestles on the bank of the River Coly some 3 miles from the World Heritage Site known as the Jurassic Coast. The property is conveniently located within easy walk of the centre of this small town yet is also within just a few minutes walk of the countryside along the banks of the Coly River.

Colyton offers a comprehensive range of shopping and recreational amenities, and the renowned Colyton Grammar School, one of the country's top mixed state schools, is situated about a mile away on the outskirts of the country village of Colyford. The town, with its beautiful medieval church, is situated amongst some of East Devon's most attractive countryside, much of which is designated as being of outstanding natural beauty and there are a myriad of footpaths in the vicinity.

The coast at Seaton, some 3 mile to the south, offers a long pebble beach and esplanade and there are beautiful coastal walks both east and west over the south west peninsular footpath.

The busy market town of Axminster is approximately 5 miles to the north east and has a wide variety of amenities including shops, supermarkets, various schools and leisure facilities, eateries, which include Hugh Fearnley-Whitingstall's River Cottage Shop and Café, and with main line rail link to London (Waterloo). There are a number of golf courses in the area and sailing at the picturesque town of Lyme Regis.

Directions.
From the centre of Colyton with the Premier (Colyton Stores) shop on your right hand side, follow the road around to the left onto South Street. After a short distance the driveway to The Compasses will be found on your right hand side just after the road narrows.
