Well Cottage is an intriguing portion of Buckerell House, a handsome Grade II Listed residence which was heavily remodelled in the 1840's in the Tudor style. It has many fine exterior features worthy of note which include the ornate windows and dripmoulds and it was a house of great distinction in its day. Buckerell House was converted into four properties in the 1990's, with Well Cottage now forming part of the rear of the house which was possibly the former servants quarters.

Well Cottage is located in the heart of the village of Buckerell, which in turn nestles amongst some of East Devon's most picturesque rolling countryside. Buckerell has a strong community with a pretty parish church and village hall and is situated approximately 2 miles away from the larger village of Feniton, which has a village shop, post office and main line rail link to London Waterloo.
About 3 miles to the east is the busy market town of Honiton which has an excellent range of shops and facilities. These include many independent retailers and eateries, as well as the usual multiples such as Smiths, Boots, Tesco, and sports and leisure facilities (sports centre/swimming pool) and schooling. It also has a main line rail link to London Waterloo.
Exeter, the County town, lies approximately 18 miles to the west and has an excellent shopping centre, theatres, cinemas, sports and leisure facilities, main line rail link to London Paddington, M5 access and international airport. The World Heritage Jurassic Coast at Sidmouth, one of East Devon's premier coastal resort, is some 13 miles to the south.
From Honiton proceed in a westerly direction turning left into Heathpark and following the signs to Buckerell and Weston. Carry on past the Otter Inn and turn first left. Proceed along this lane for approximately 1 mile and into the village. Pass the War Memorial on your left hand side and the driveway to Buckerell House will be found after a short distance on the right. Continue up the driveway and around to the left and park on the right hand side.
