A RURAL SETTING WITH BREATHTAKING VIEWS An individual modern house, well-appointed and equipped throughout, taking full advantage of the surrounding scenery located in the rural heart of West Dorset.
Wayside is an architect designed two storey house built for the present owners in 2003. The property is set in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) and affords superb countryside views from all aspects. The house is constructed of brick with flint panels under a slate pitched roof and provides very generous and comfortable living space and has been fully re-decorated throughout within the last two years.
Access is via a remote controlled hardwood vehicle gate with adjoining pedestrian gate and the stone gravel drive leads round the house to a separate triple garage which has open storage above. The garage doors are electric remote controlled and the end unit also has a half glazed pedestrian door. To the rear of the garage is a large slate-roofed wood and garden equipment store.
The gardens are laid mostly to lawn with a variety of shrubs in the area around the house. At the southern end, a two level terraced lawn area leads to a small wooded area with mature trees and shrubs and a circular stone table and benches, affording a private and shady area in which to relax. Adjoining the garden is a paddock of approximately 0.5 acres.
Wayside is located outside of Plush towards the neighbouring village of Mappowder. The village of Plush itself is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty about one mile east of the sought after Piddle Valley. The village mainly consists of thatched cottages, farmland and the well-known and popular pub, The Brace of Pheasants. The larger village of Piddletrenthide is approximately one mile away which has more everyday facilities, two further public houses and a very well regarded primary school. The county town of Dorchester is only a short motoring distance away.
