littleBIG house is about giving you spaces in your home which feel big and special. We have developed three different designs for putting a double height space into your home. Your first decision is to choose the design that most suits how you want to live:
1. Outward bound, a supersized hall at the front, with space to hang your kayak, dry your waterproofs and park your bikes
2. Home comforts, a sky-lit room at the heart of the home, for the kitchen table and a lazy sofa
3. Green fingers, a tall room overlooking the garden, for growing tomatoes, drying laundry and a pair of comfy chairs You can then choose the layout rooms or open plan - and arrangement live downstairs or up.
The essential littleBIG house provides a custom built two storey home which you can add to and upgrade. Add a loft space to create an extra bedroom, home office or living room with roof terrace. Enhance the garden by adding a patio, verandah or garden room. Upgrade the front of the house, choosing from a range of locally sourced materials.
Reduce your energy use and bills by upgrading to superinsulation and adding photovoltaic panels to the roof. littleBIG house is designed by AOC to be built anywhere, using the skills and experience of local craftspeople and locally available materials. This minimises costs, maximises the benefits of local experience and ensures the house makes a positive contribution to the local economy.
