Property
Entering from the parking area a reception desk with adjoining office greets you in the inner hallway. Directly opposite is a comfortable lounge with a large bay window with window seats. Next door there is a bar area with doors leading out to a conservatory which runs across the front of the building connecting the bar and dining areas. The main dining area (50 covers) also features a large bay window, giving each of the principal room’s superb views over the grounds and un-interrupted views of the sea. Ground & Gardens
To the side of the house is a large parking area which extends to the rear of the property. A large terrace to the front overlooks a level lawned area ideal for marquees, and has a decked area for guests. A fence marks the boundary of the garden, beyond which the south west coastal foot path passes running between the village and the neighbouring village of Cadgwith. Steps from this path lead down to Housel Beach. Open to the public, yet used predominantly by the hotel guests. The house and it’s grounds all enjoy superb views from this most dramatic of locations.

Surrounding Areas
The house is located a short walk from the village and overlooks its own beach on the southern coast of the Lizard Peninsula. One of the most beautiful, unspoilt areas of the southern Cornish coast with amazing river and coastal scenery it is perfect for walking, cycling, sailing and fishing and as you drive south from Helston it really does feel as if you are entering a different world. Local facilities in the village include a primary school, church, shop, Post Office, newsagent, pub, restaurant, bakery, garage and doctors’ surgery. There is an excellent secondary school at Mullion for which a school bus collects local children. There is also a very good Golf Club at Mullion as well as shops and restaurants. The Lizard peninsula which is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is rich in history and it is said that the remote location and many creeks allowed smugglers to continue to function here long after their ‘business’ had been successfully eradicated elsewhere. The nearest commercial centres are Helston (11 miles) and Falmouth (20 miles). The Cathedral city of Truro (24 miles) offers more comprehensive facilities including private and public sector schooling.

History
The Directors, local business people, commissioned a well known local architect, Silvanus Trevail, to design a new hotel. Trevail designed many of the "more modern buildings in Cornwall". He was widely travelled in Europe and the Americas and was celebrated
