The village has a church, primary school, public house and post office/shop. A wider range of amenities can be found in the towns of Beaminster and Axminster both about 8 miles (the latter with main line rail services to London). The popular coastal resort of Lyme Regis, located on the World Heritage, is also easily accessible.
The historic market town of Bridport and picturesque coastal harbour resort of West Bay are about 10 miles to the south east. Dorchester, Yeovil, Taunton and Exeter are a little further, although easily reached.
