Talyesin is a large detached individual house dating back to circa 1964 and traditionally built with pebble dash elevations under a slate roof. Under the current ownership for the past 37 years the property has been subject to extensive alteration, improvement and enlargement to now provide a very spacious and versatile home.
The extensive accommodation faces principally south and all the principal rooms enjoy the fantastic views to the sea. The sitting room features a small balcony and the principal bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and en suite shower room. There is the benefit of oil-fired central heating, solar panels, replacement UPVC sealed unit windows/doors, cavity wall insulation and extra roof insulation. The kitchen features solid cherry wood fronted units and a new bathroom was installed about 3 years ago. There is excellent potential to create a ground floor annexe if required.
The gardens have been landscaped for ease of maintenance (the former lawned gardens could be easily reinstated if required) and back onto open fields with pleasant views. Talyesin would be equally ideal as a retirement, family or second home.
GARDEN AND GROUNDS
A brick paved driveway provides parking and leads to a CAR PORT.
To the front is a range of flower beds and pathway leading to a terrace, adjoining the conservatory. The main gardens lie to the rear and have been designed for ease of maintenance with paved terraced areas, vegetable patch, fruit cages and a large ornamental pond with water fall.
There is a useful range of outbuildings with 2 GREENHOUSES, POTTING SHED and further SHED.
Talyesin enjoys an elevated position with splendid far reaching views to the south over the National Trust Golden Cap Estate. The outlook takes in the well known view points of Langdon Hill and Golden Cap to the sea. Morcombelake is a small village with a farm shop, post office/shop and church. The surrounding countryside and World Heritage coastline is some of the most beautiful in the area and there is easy access to the Golden Cap Estate.
The villages of Charmouth and Chideock are within a few miles with the former having a popular bathing beach. Bridport & Lyme Regis, both about 6 miles, have more comprehensive facilities. The market town of Axminster is also within easy reach with a main line rail service to London & the West Country.
From Bridport join the A35 in a westerly direction to Morcombelake. About 100 yards past Felicity's Farm Shop, turn right into Sun Lane. The property will be found after a few hundred yards on the left.
