This period semi detached property is located in a small hamlet surrounded by some of the finest countryside in Wiltshire. Constructed of brick and stone, the original building is centuries old with some later additions. The sitting room is full of period features including beams and an impressive inglenook with a Jet Master fire. The dining room is delightful, being double aspect and having a stripped wood floor and half panelled walls. Two steps lead up to the kitchen which is light and spacious with a good range of wall and base units and plenty of room for a breakfast table and chairs. One of the triple aspect windows affords lovely views of the rear garden. There is a pantry/larder and a door providing access to the front drive way. A third reception room off the kitchen has double doors leading to the garden and access to the downstairs cloakroom. This area could make a third bedroom for guests or perhaps a study. Upstairs are two bedrooms both with built in wardrobes, a bathroom with a shower over the bath and a separate WC.
Gardens and grounds
The gardens of the property are enclosed by fencing and a five bar gate. There is parking immediately to the front of the property and additional parking through the gate along the gravelled driveway. The garden is mainly laid to lawn but there are pretty beds and borders of seasonal flowers, some mature trees and wonderful views across open fields. There is an area of sun terrace providing a super place for outdoor entertaining.
Surrounding area and communications
Woodborough is a small hamlet within the Pewsey Vale with a garden centre with a cafe, a church and a well known primary school, which is within walking distance. The Seven Stars pub at Bottlesford is just 5-10 minutes walk from the house. The larger village of Pewsey is 3 miles away and Marlborough is within 8 miles and has a larger range of shops and facilities. The beautiful surrounding countryside of the Pewsey Vale and Marlborough Downs provides outstanding walking and riding opportunities and there is a good range of schooling in the area including St. Johns and Marlborough College. A main line rail station is at Pewsey with links directly into London and the M4 providing routes west and east is approximately 18 miles away.
From Marlborough High Street, proceed west on the A4 in the direction of Chippenham and Calne. Proceed for approximately 3 miles and take the turning to Lockeridge on the left hand side. Continue along this road for approximately 7.5 miles to the house itself. When you enter Woodborough pass the school on your left and continue over the railway bridge. Continue for another 2-300 metres and look for a turning left to Bottlesford. The property is situated just before this on the right hand side.
