A stunning and substantial modern residence with beautifully appointed accommodation, gardens and grounds of about 1.5 acres and views down the combe to the sea in the distance.
Edge House is a substantial detached residence which sits in a commanding position on the country outskirts of the town and was designed in a way so as to take full advantage of its location with all the principal rooms gaining stunning views. The property was completed in 2009 in the New England style and has a particularly handsome southerly façade which is dominated by its large weatherboarded gabled balcony.
The property was built to an exacting standard and was also designed with efficiency in mind, benefitting from timber double glazed windows, photovoltaic panels and a ground source heat pump which runs the underfloor heating. It also has a rainwater harvester, which recycles the roof water for use in the house.
The accommodation is exceptionally spacious and has been finished to a beautiful standard with great attention to detail and high quality fixtures and fittings. It blends more traditional features with a modern approach and also has some stunning contemporary elements, all of which aid in creating the stylish and distinctive home we find today. Notable features include the commissioned stained glass window of local trawlers at sea in the hallway, oak flooring and galleried oak staircase with low level lighting, LED lighting, and French doors onto the terraces from the reception rooms.

The kitchen has been beautifully fitted with an extensive range of units with integral appliances and central island under granite work tops.
To the first floor there is a large principal bedroom suite which has access onto a covered balcony which gains stunning views, and this room has a dressing area and a superb luxury en-suite with an airbath and an enormous granite shower area. The guest bedroom also has access onto a large balcony and an en-suite bathroom, and there are two further bedrooms, as well as a family bath/shower room. Edge house benefits from a second staircase which rises to a bedroom wing where there is a fifth bedroom and shower room.
