A well-appointed detached house with spacious accommodation located in a much sought after residential area.
Brecon House is a substantial detached residence which has principally rendered and tile hung elevations under a tiled roof. The property has been the subject of a continued programme of improvement and enlargement over the years which has resulted in creating the well-appointed and spacious home we find today. This has included an extension to the south which has added a beautiful part vaulted library with a garden store beneath.
The accommodation is well-presented and worthy of particular mention is the entrance hall which has an oak floor, and the modern fitted kitchen which opens into a beautiful dining room with a bay window. To the first floor, Brecon House benefits from four bedrooms, the principal of which has an en-suite shower room.
The rooms are also light, with many having an east-west orientation and superb views over the gardens to Bickwell Valley and Muttersmoor.
Gardens and Grounds.
Brecon House is approached from Knowle Drive over a short driveway which provides parking for several vehicles and gives access to the attached garage. To the front of the house are well established borders containing a variety of colourful plants and shrubs.
The majority of the ground lies to the rear where there is a paved terrace adjacent to the house and this affords fine views and takes advantage of the afternoon's sunshine. There is a good sized area of lawn with a pond and mature hedging and trees which offer privacy and add to the setting. Beyond the lawn is a more natural area which runs down to a small stream.
Brecon House is situated in a convenient location on the western side of the town, in a much sought after and high class residential area.
Sidmouth is a Regency town, a gem in the crown of East Devon. It has a long esplanade, wide pebble (sand at low tide) beach, and is situated on the World Heritage Coastline known as the Jurassic Coast, with stunning views and dramatic scenery along the South West Peninsular Coastal Path. The town itself has many beautiful parks and walks, and a bustling shopping centre with a great variety of independent shops and boutiques, as well as the usual multiples. There is also an out of town Waitrose store, cinema, theatre and a good range of sporting facilities including tennis courts, croquet lawn, indoor swimming pool and cricket pitch overlooking the sea.
The busy market town and antique centre of Honiton is located about 9 miles to the north, and which also has a good range of shopping and recreational amenities as well as a main line rail link to London (Waterloo). Exeter the county town, is some 15 miles to the west with excellent shopping facilities, theatres, main line rail link to London (Paddington), international airport and M5 access. Sidmouth has excellent schooling both private and comprehensive and the excellent St John's school (private) is just a short walk from the property, as well as Colyton Grammar School, one of England's top mixed state schools, which is about 9 miles distant.
