SITUATION
Brentwood is located right in the heart of Offwell, a charming village which has an active community,
primary school and opposite the ancient Church of St Mary's. It lies approximately 2 miles from the market town of Honiton which is particularly well-known as an antique and book centre, as well as having most of the usual multiples and a variety of independent shops, restaurants, schools, sports centre/swimming pool, golf club and main line rail link to London Waterloo.
Honiton has excellent communication facilities with a dual carriageway to the Cathedral City of Exeter, some 20 miles to the west. Exeter has extensive shopping and sporting facilities, theatres, art centre, main line express rail link to London Paddington and an international airport, together with M5 access.
The Regency coastal resort of Sidmouth lies some 12 miles to the south with its pebble beach (sand at low tide), long esplanade and range of independent shops. The renowned Colyton Grammar School, one of England's top mixed state schools, is situated about 6.5 miles away.
THE PROPERTY
Brentwood is a lovely period terraced cottage situated right in the heart of the wonderful East Devon village of Offwell. The property traditionally built property dates back several centuries with a full-width single storey rear extension added in more recent years. The property although had a new fitted kitchen and a bathroom it still does require full modernisation throughout but has
retained many original period features which include the feature inglenook fireplace in the spacious sitting room with a wood burner and original bread oven. To the rear is the large full-width kitchen/dining room with double-doors that lead out to the rear garden. Also on the ground-floor is an additional reception room which could be used as a third bedroom or hobbies room and a
cloakroom. On the first-floor are the good-sized double bedrooms and a family bathroom with a white suite and an electric shower over the bath.
OUTSIDE
Worthy of particular mention are the incredible gardens that are at the rear of the property, these are large and have many established trees including a lovely large feature Bay Tree and areas that you could grow vegetables and further specimen trees and plants. The garden is a wonderful asset to this charming home and is in current in need of formally landscaping but has been professionally cut back recently so this provides any potential purchaser with a huge amount of scope to create something exceptionally special. A driveway at the front provides parking for several vehicles.
