Croydon Hall was part of the Croydon Estate and the present house was built in the 19th century and was sold in 1907 to Count Conrad Von Hochberg who added the Italian gardens and created the landscaped grounds. The property was sold to Captain Bridges who was related to the Luttrells of Dunster Castle.
He made the estate his home for over 20 years until the outbreak of the Second World War when the local authority took over the property for evacuees.
In recent times the property has been used as a school, a retreat centre and is now run as a self-catering venue business coupled with the function facility of the barn. Croydon Hall benefits from landscaped gardens to the rear with views over the Quantock Hills.
Croydon Hall has been in the same ownership since 2018 and the new owners have re-modelled the main residence due to its specific market for adult parties which is a private members club aimed at providing fun, passion and pure indulgence for their members. The property is being marketed as the hottest new venue in the South West with an age restriction of 21.

Membership includes lockers for personal possessions and use of the full facilities and licenced bar. The annual membership is £60 per person or £110 for a couple.
Tickets for non-members are £65 per person for Fridays and Saturdays which includes a temporary membership for 3 months. Themed rooms are currently £120 per night and standard rooms are £69 per night.
The ground floor of the hotel is made up of the sitting room and dining room with the first floor being the members area. At second floor level there are 8 en-suite bedrooms. In addition, there is the stable block which is currently occupied as owners accommodation and in the grounds there is the Old Barn which is available by separate negotiation.
Previously Croydon Hall was used as a hotel and large holiday letting property specialising in events, sleeping up to 80 guests for anniversaries, birthday parties, family gatherings and weddings.
The gross turnover for the previous business was £207,000 plus VAT year ending April 2017 and could easily be converted back into this business model if required.
The dining room has table and chairs for 75 people.
The spa wing contains a Swedish sauna, infra-red sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi pool along with showers and changing facilities.
The library is a small room with sofas and TV/DVD player and a large selection of books.

The Coach House

The Old Barn
Detached building with its own heating system set away from the main residence and used as a large function facility with adjacent storage room for banqueting stairs and tables.
The large function room has a wall screen with wall mounted speakers which are available to connect to an amplified mixer system.
The lower ground floor of the building is externally accessed and contains a meeting room and a store room. (The building or parts of the building have potential to be converted into additional accommodation or a self-contained holiday letting cottage or as an owners private house subject to gaining the relevant consents).
The gardens and grounds are landscaped with mature trees and include an Italian garden with several terraces, rose beds and ornamental pond which is spring fed.
There are several lawned area and to the rear of the main house and a levelled lawn area with a terrace with 50 garden chairs and tables adjoining the sitting room and dining room. At the front of the property is a parking area for approximately 25 cars with an additional parking area on the former tennis court for a further 25 cars if required.
Set within the gardens is an outdoor heated swimming pool which is open from March to September and is heated by an air source heat pump. The pool is fenced and includes a timber shed with male & female changing rooms.
