Otford is a sought-after village in the heart of the beautiful Darenth Valley approximately 3 miles to the north of Sevenoaks.
Both the River Darent and the Pilgrims Way cut through it, the latter being the historical route taken by pilgrims from Winchester to Canterbury Cathedral.
The village, which dates back to Roman times, is centred around a church and boasts a roundabout with a village pond in the middle. This duck pond traffic island is the only circular junction in the UK to have been granted listed status and has also crowned ‘Roundabout of the Year’ in 2014 (thank you to the Roundabout Appreciation Society)!
The village is popular not only for its excellent rail links to central London, but also it’s green space and enjoys about 12 acres of recreation grounds, marked for football, cricket, and hosts the annual Otford Village Fete. There is a vibrant High Street with a selection of shops, cafes, pubs and eateries and there is a state primary school (Otford Primary), and two public schools (St Michaels Prep School and Russell House).
There are great links via road, bus and rail - Otford station is located in the village and makes for easy rail services to central London via Bromley South to Victoria, Blackfriars and St Pancras, Ashford International via Maidstone East and to Sevenoaks.
