THE PROPERTY.
Brookview comprises an attractive semi-detached cottage which used to form part of one of the outbuildings in connection with Colhayne Farm before being converted in the later part of the twentieth century. SITUATION.
Brookview nestles on the slopes of the Umborne Valley, which in turn is located in the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty amongst some of the county’s most picturesque countryside. The property enjoys far reaching views and beautiful walks emanate virtually from one’s doorstep over the fields and along the Umborne Brook which meanders through the foot of the valley. Although semi-rural, the property is readily accessible being within a short distance of the A35 and only three miles from the popular town of Colyton which has a beautiful medieval church, comprehensive range of shopping and recreational amenities, and the renowned Colyton Grammar School which is located on the outskirts of the country village of Colyford. Further to the south is the magnificent World Heritage Jurassic Coast at Lyme Bay which is a popular destination for tourists due to its dramatic scenery, handsome coastal towns and fabulous walks over the South West Coastal Path.
The busy market town of Axminster lies about five miles to the east and has a wide range of shops, restaurants and supermarkets, as well as a main line rail link to London Waterloo. The Cathedral City of Exeter is approximately 23 miles to the west and has an excellent shopping centre, food hall, sport and leisure facilities, university, main line express rail link to London Paddington, and international airport. From Shute there is easy access to the M5, A303 and A35.
DIRECTIONS.
From Honiton, take the A35 towards Axminster. Continue through the village of Wilmington for a further 1.5 miles, taking a right hand turning (on a long straight) signposted Umborne 1 mile. Follow this lane for about half a mile turning (over a cattle grid) into the driveway to Springfield, and further on to Brookview.
