The cottage is steeped in history and was once owned by Dr John Henry Rogers who established within it, in 1863, one of the country’s original ‘cottage hospitals’. This hospital was the forerunner of the Queen Victoria Hospital as it is today.

Directions
Head north out of East Grinstead on the one way system, passing the station. When you hit the 2 way system by the fire station. Proceed over the railway bridge and turn right into Green Hedges Avenue. The drive to the house is at the end on the left.
Communications
There are mainline railway stations at East Grinstead, providing services to London Bridge/Victoria. The A22 also connects directly to the M25. The M23 is about 7 miles providing good access to London, Brighton and Gatwick.

East Grinstead has much to offer, with a wide range of local stores and supermarkets. The nearby towns of Crawley and Tunbridge Wells are also within easy reach. There are state schools close by and several excellent private schools are also within easy reach. East Grinstead has some excellent clubs including rugby, hockey, cricket, netball, tennis and football. Golf is available at Chartham Park, Royal Ashdown and Holtye. Ashdown Forest and Lingfield Racecourse are also nearby.
