THE AGENTS SAYS...
With well-maintained and attractive front and rear gardens, Hillside is the perfect property for anyone who loves to potter or relax outside. For those in-between days there is a comfortable garden room and when the weather turns, a welcoming, snug sitting room to enjoy.
The front door, protected by a porch, opens into the wood panelled hallway. Stairs rise to the first floor and at the rear of the property is a WC. On the right is the sitting room, with a lovely built-in, illuminated display cabinet as you enter, and bespoke cabinetry and shelves in the alcoves around the chimney breast. A rich colour scheme, exposed beams and pretty tiled fireplace make this room cosy and inviting; it is easy to imagine it decked out for Christmas. Up a few steps is the double aspect dining room, with its dramatic red walls, fireplace and feature beams beckoning good company. The bright galley kitchen runs alongside and opens to a patio and barbecue area in the rear garden. The garden room, which opens to a second patio area, and a small study are accessed from the sitting room.
Upstairs there are 2 generous double bedrooms and a shower room. Bedroom 1 has a fireplace, en-suite with bath and shower and a large storage cupboard. Bedroom 2 is double aspect.
GARDENS AND GROUNDS
There are lawned gardens both front and rear with a side gate giving pedestrian access between the two. The rear garden is fully enclosed and has two patio areas at different levels, creating separate zones for sitting and entertaining. At the end of the formal front garden is a lay-by (belonging to the property) with parking for 2 cars.
The historical village of Yetminster, situated on the river Wriggle, is widely regarded as one of the most sought-after villages in the area. It has a pub, Norman church, village shop, post office, health centre, vet and school, as well as its own railway station. Much of Yetminster is designated a conservation area and there are many beautiful country walks in the local area. It lies within the western area of the Blackmore Vale, and within easy commuting distance of the abbey town of Sherborne, the regional centre of Yeovil and the county town of Dorchester. Open countryside of
the Dorset Downs, which lies to the South, is for the most part designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and beyond is the Dorset coast. The A303 can be joined to the North at Sparkford, giving good access back to London and the Home Counties along the A303/M3 route.
From the centre of Yetminster, with the White Hart pub on your left, proceed along the High Street,
carrying on down the hill and over the railway bridge. Continue through the village into the area
known as Brister End; as you proceed up the hill past Willow Farm on your left, Hillside will be seen
on the right hand side.
Mains water, drainage and electricity. Electric heating.
