GROUNDS AND GARDENS
The property is situated on the High Street with the gardens being set to the rear of the property. These consist of two main areas which are intersected by a stream and joined by a bridge. Both of these areas are beautifully maintained and are a joy to walk through. The courtyard garden closest to the cottage includes a small lawn, a brick well, a walled herb garden and rose arbour. It also provides access to the large workshop.
The second area of garden accessed via the bridge over the Nailbourne has a large central lawn, mature trees, herbaceous borders, shrubs and meandering paths providing access to a well tended fruit and vegetable garden with raised beds and a separate decked seating area. Garden shed.
The property is situated in the centre of the sought after and particularly well served village of Bridge, which offers a comprehensive range of amenities including a convenience store, post office/chemist, doctors surgery, primary school and three public houses, two of which have restaurants.
Wider facilities are catered for by the Cathedral City of Canterbury, just over 3 miles to the north with an excellent modern shopping centre, a range of boutique shops along the Kings Mile, a choice of schools in both the public and private sectors including Kings, St Edmunds, Kent College and Simon Langton boys and girls grammar schools together with the University of Kent and colleges of further education. The City is also well known for its cultural interests, including the Marlowe Theatre, Gulbenkian and Beaney House of Art & Knowledge.
The property is well placed for access onto the A2, providing straight forward road journeys to Canterbury, Dover and Brenley Corner at Faversham, which in turn links the Thanet and Medway Towns and London. The village of Bekesbourne has a mainline station (1.4 miles), whilst Canterbury offers two mainline railway stations including Canterbury West, providing the High Speed Rail to London (St Pancras 53 mins). Ashford International offers both the HSR to London (St Pancras 38 mins) and the continent via Eurostar. Both the port of Dover and Channel Tunnel terminal at Cheriton lie to the south, both of which offer access to the continent.
From Canterbury, take the A2 towards Dover and take the first exit, signposted Bridge. Turn right at the T-junction over the A2 and after a short distance fork left on to Town Hill and at the crossroads turn left on to the High Street. Drop down the hill and Willow Brook will be found towards the end of the village on the left hand side and being identified by our For Sale board.
