THE AGENT SAYS...
The Coach House is a lovely, spacious and characterful two bedroom property set in the prosperous village of Martock with its beautiful surrounding countryside, excellent amenities and close proximity to the A303. The property is presented in excellent decorative order and ready for the new owners to move straight into.
Inside the front door a lobby protects the sitting room from the elements and provides a storage area for shoes and coats. A pretty half-glazed door opens into the large sitting room which has built-in storage along the length of one wall to house the TV, toys and any other clutter you might wish to hide! Warm toned exposed beams complement the dusky pink walls and ornate ironwork covers obscure the radiators. Two steps lead up into the hall, where there is a WC and an attractive wooden spindle staircase rising to the first floor. Ahead is the goodsized kitchen which is neutrally decorated with cream fitted units including integral dishwasher & fridge, tiled floor and stainless steel oven and hood. There is space for a dining table and the room benefits from morning light. A side door leads out into the alley and rear garden.
On the first floor are two double bedrooms, the family bathroom and built-in storage on the large and light landing. Being a coach house, the first floor ceilings are vaulted and have charming exposed beams and rafters. Bedroom 1 is almost square and a good-size. The low window enables you to lie in bed and look out at the garden. Bedroom 2 is larger and has french windows (with an internal balustrade) overlooking the street.
GARDENS AND GROUNDS
There is a block paved parking space at the front and solid wooden double gates lead up the side alley to the rear of the property. The L-shaped courtyard garden is set slightly above the house and enclosed by a wall to one side (against which is a narrow lean-to shed) and the remainder by
fence panels. There is a patio area behind the house and the rest of the garden is laid to gravel with a small paved area at the end. With the addition of some plants, a new patio and some structural elements this space could become a lovely area for relaxing and entertaining.
Martock is a popular 7 thriving village with an ancient centre built of period houses and a beautiful church. It is well served by local businesses including shops and pubs, along with lots of community events, societies and clubs. There is also a doctor's surgery, dentist, pharmacy, primary school and very easy access onto the A303. Yeovil & Sherborne are both within easy commuting distance.
