THE AGENTS SAYS...
If you dream of waking up to beautiful views then 35 Ridgway could be your perfect home. Significantly extended, the new spaces have been seamlessly integrated with the old to create a well proportioned and practical home. French doors from the kitchen/dining room and conservatory (adjoining the sitting room) offer easy indoor/outdoor living for entertaining and family life.
The enclosed front porch opens to the entrance hallway where stairs rise to the first floor. To the left is the large home office and on the right is the spacious L-shaped sitting room with wood burning stove and adjoining conservatory, that opens to the rear garden. At the end of the hall, the interconnected kitchen and dining room, with french doors out to the patio, form a sociable, family space. Off the dining room, is a utility room with toilet and a separate storage space (up and over garage door retained).
Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms and the family bathroom. The large principal bedroom is double-aspect, with beautiful countryside views at the front, and benefits from an en-suite wet room and built-in wardrobes. There are three further good-sized doubles (one with built-in wardrobes) and a single room.
GARDENS AND GROUNDS
Set at the end of a no-through road. Driveway parking for several cars and pedestrian access gate to the rear garden. The rear garden is fully enclosed with a large patio area set slightly below the lawn and separated by low level palisade fencing with a gate. At the end of the garden is a storage shed and garden room/office.
West Chinnock is without a doubt one of the prettiest small villages in Somerset, lying amidst beautiful unspoilt countryside away from main roads. The cluster of small villages comprising West and Middle Chinnock, Chiselborough and Norton sub Hamdon (all quite delightful in their own right) forms possibly the most unspoilt pocket of rural England in the county. The village has an active Church, The Muddled Man Inn, a highly regarded primary school, thriving gardening club and WI. The nearby village of Norton sub Hamdon has a shop/post office. The larger centres of Yeovil and Crewkerne with a range of shopping, education and recreational facilities are easily accessible along the A30. Four miles north is the A303, which provides the best road connection to London and to the mainline railway station at Castle Cary (Paddington about 95 minutes). Crewkerne station, on the Waterloo Line, is about 4 miles away. The stunning scenery of the Dorset coast is not far, but it is the beauty of the local landscape which sets this village apart, resulting in few houses ever changing hands.
From Yeovil, follow the A30 through East Chinnock and on towards Crewkerne. Go past West Country Cars and after 1/4 mile take the right hand turn, following signposts to West Chinnock. Continue on Higher Street and at the primary school turn left into Scotts Way. After approximately 200 yards, turn left into Ridgway and then immediately right, where number 35 will be found at the end of the road on the left.
Mains electricity, drainage and water. Oil fired central heating.
