AN IDYLLICALLY SITUATED RESIDENTIAL ESTATE IN A CONVENIENT LOCATION ON THE WESTERN EDGE OF THE NORTH YORK MOORS NATIONAL PARK.
Hunters Hill Farm is an idyllic property set in a total of approximately 75.45 acres at the foot of the Cleveland Hills with wonderful views. The house offers fantastic family accommodation, with the surrounding grassland making the property eminently suitable for anyone wishing to carry on a grazing livestock enterprise as well as for those with an equestrian interest.
The property lies about a mile from the pretty hamlet of Nether Silton on the fringes of the North York Moors National Park. Whilst being peacefully located and seemingly far from the madding crowd it is less than 2 miles from the A19 which offers access to Teesside and the A1 Great North Road. Nether Silton lies approximately equidistant between the highly regarded market towns of Thirsk and Northallerton where there are extensive facilities and direct rail links to London.
Teesside airport is about 22.5 miles away with scheduled flights across Europe.
Hunters Hill House has been the subject of an extensive restoration programme and has been finished to an excellent standard. The ground floor offers fabulous reception rooms, some with Elm floorboards and exposed beams. The Kitchen is particularly notable, being hand built with polished granite worksurfaces and featuring a vaulted ceiling with solid Oak beams and offers fine, light living space, ideal for family life. To the first floor there are four bedrooms including the master suite with a Shower Room and Dressing Room and extensive wardrobes. The second floor offers two further bedrooms.
There are lovely landscaped gardens with well stocked borders, a soft fruit garden and ha-ha. Many of the stone walls have recently been built. There are a range of stone stores and a garden room around an attractive paved garden. The property benefits from a timber framed Garage with two bays flanked by lock up stores, a stone and timber barn and a useful 4-bay general purpose building currently used for housing livestock.
The land mainly comprises undulating grassland and meadows divided into 8 well fenced enclosures. To the east of the property is an area of woodland extending to about 4.8 acres.
From Thirsk, follow the A19 northbound for approximately six miles. After passing Leake Church at the right hand side of the carriageway, take the next right signed Nether Silton, Over Silton and Kepwick. After approximately one mile take a right hand turn up into the village of Nether Silton. Continue straight through the village and at the far end (after the village school on the right) take the next left signed Over Silton. After 300 metres, take a right fork, which goes behind Rose Cottage and a dead end sign. Continue up a steep bank and down the far side and round a bend; the road then heads straight for the forest and Hunters Hill Farm is on the left hand side with a mature beech tree at the bottom of the drive.
